OSCAR WINNING ACTOR, PHILIP SEYMOUR FOUND DEAD IN HIS NEW YORK HOME




Philip Seymour, the oscar award-winning actor and director whose range and accomplishment was the envy

of all his peers, was found dead in his fourth floor West Village apartment in Manhattan on Sunday aged 46

Although there was no official cause of death, the New York Police said his death was likely caused by a drugs overdose. Several media outlets also cited anonymous sources saying that the actor had been found on the floor of his bathroom by his friend David Bar Katz shortly before noon with a needle sticking out of his arm.
“I saw him last week, and he was clean and sober, his old self,” Mr Katz, a playwright, told the New York Times.  “I really thought this chapter was over.”
Police later confirmed in a statement that Hoffman was found unresponsive on the bathroom floor of his Greenwich Village apartment after officers responded to a 911 call.

Mr Hoffman was a favourite among audiences worldwide for his work in films beginning with his break-out role in the 1997 film Boogie Nights. He won a Best Actor Oscar for his performance as the writer Truman Capote in the 2005 film Capote. Through his career he was also nominated for a Best Supporting Actor three times.
He was also a major act in the 2012 released movie "death of a sales man.
