PHOTO: GOVERNOR MIMIKO DISSOLVES CABINET AND APPOINTS NEW CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has dissolved the state executive council, as well as all non-statutory boards of parastatals agencies.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Soji Gbadebo, the Permanent Secretary, Government House and Protocol at Akure.

Mimiko thanked the outgoing appointees for their selfless service and dedication to duty and assured them of his deep appreciation of their efforts in the past four years.
``Our success has been as a result of the synergy and team effort put in by all of us at the cabinet as well as in other positions of responsibility since we came on board.
``Through our collective efforts, rich debates, engaging arguments, agreements, sometimes disagreements, we have provided responsible and dedicated leadership to the people.
``Diligence has been our watchword and for this I am very grateful to all of you,” Mimiko said.
He listed the affected office holders as commissioners, chairmen and members of boards of  parastatals; Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and others in positions other than statutory commissions.
He added that they ceased to hold such political offices after the announcement.
The dissolution, Mimiko said, excluded all appointees whose tenures were not tied to the expiration of his government’s first term.
``I am sure your services will still be required by our state, the country and humanity at large.
``I, therefore, pray that the spirit of excellence will not depart from you all. Once again, thank you for serving your fatherland,” he said.
Meanwhile, the governor has re-appointed Mr Eni Akinsola as his Chief Press Secretary.

 ENI AKINSOLA
Akinsola, an International Relations graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, was a human rights trainer, educator and campaigner before joining journalism from where he was appointed by Mimiko as Senior Special Assistant (Media) in 2009.
He was appointed the Chief Press Secretary in October, 2011.
