LASU MATRICULATES 1,119 FRESH STUDENTS
The Lagos State University, yesterday had their matriculation ceremony and a tota number of 1,119 students were matriculated. According to the VC, a total of 1,582 candidates were offered admission, but 1,119 candidates were cleared for matriculation. Giving the breakdown, he said: "Faculty of Arts, 126; Faculty of Management Sciences, 193; Faculty of Social Sciences, 194; Faculty of Science, 196; Faculty of Education, 89; Faculty of Law, 120; School of Communication, 27; College of Medicine (Physiology inclusive), 104; Faculty of Engineering, 63 and School of Transport matriculated 7 students. "All the matriculants of today have been issued matriculation numbers to enable them pay their fees. The university has approved the payment of fees in two installments for our new students. 70 per cent of the fees is to be paid first, before registration for courses, while the balance of 30 per cent is to be paid ideally a month after, but must be paid before registration for courses in the next semester," he said.
